Insulation blankets are high quality blankets that are used when severe chemical exposure and temperature are needed. Black Teflon has the same properties as Gray Teflon but has a Glossy Black coating for a more special appearance when you look for alternatives to the more industrial look known by Gray. Teflon is known for its non-sticky ability and this helps fight most chemicals, oils, and hydro carbon. Teflon is very easy to clean. The temperature rating of the Black Teflon Cloth 17 oz is 550 F (287 C). Fiberglass insulation consists of "E" type 100% glass fiber which is put together into a mat and is good for temperatures up to 1200 F (650 C)). Insulation Mat is processed in such a way as to maximize thermal efficiency. This cannot be prescribed, is non-flammable, is free of asbestos and does not contain resin or inorganic binders. This type of fiberglass has better thermal conductivity than calcium silicate. Fiberglass insulation is held in place with a stainless steel mesh that is sewn to the edge with high temperature threads. This process provides our heat protection blankets superior quality and the ability to withstand higher temperatures. 17 oz Teflon Insulation Blanket Hooks Our stainless steel lacing hooks with stainless steel wire are the most economical way to install our Removable Heat Shield Blankets. We also offer Velcro and "D" rings with straps as an alternative. We recommend the Thermasil inner liner (2300 F) sewn between the mesh and insulation. This option helps reduce heat, contains fiberglass fiber particles and adds to the longevity of the blanket. It is strongly recommended that the first pipe part of the exhaust system is the hottest temperature. Insulation thickness can vary depending on the operating temperature and the desired surface temperature
